Laine Schlicher '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Laine Schlicher. I was first introduced to volleyball at around age 7, when my mom used to drag me to all the local camps, and lets just say I like it a lot more than I used to. I am currently in my spring semester of sophomore year. I have been playing club volleyball since sixth grade and have become a better person on and off the court because of this sport. After my freshman year, my family decided to transfer schools down to Crawfordsville High School. From playing on the freshman team my freshman year to being a varsity starter my sophomore year, I have really been through a lot! In 87 sets my sophomore year, I recorded 372 assists, 70 aces, and 20 kills. I also had 0 ball handling errors. I was also a IndyStar Athlete of the Week nominee and on the AVCA Watch List. I am looking for a college that will fit me both academically and athletically, and I hope I am the right fit for your program!

The club I have been fortunate to be at since I was 12 is Performance Point Volleyball Club. These coaches have really shaped me into the person and volleyball player I am today. I have learned a lot about leadership, team work, time management, and sportsmanship from these coaches and my teammates. I now have the confidence to say that I can add some of these aspects to your team very positively. I also participate in basketball and softball, and am apart of National Honor Society. 

With being as busy as I am as a three sport athlete and club, I still manage to keep up with my grades and I have a 4.1 GPA. I have learned that academics always come first before sports and social time. In my free time, I like to spend time hanging out with my friends, supporting other sports events, reading, spending time with my brothers, weight lifting, and traveling. With all this being said, I hope I can help your team grow and thank you so much for the interest!
