I have always had a passion for playing sports, especaially volleyball, and being active all the time. Sports have influenced my life in that I have learned to be dedicated, a team player, and how to budget my time. I started being more physically active in second grade when I started with Irish dance. I am still dancing because I have found that it helps me with my vertical jump. Since my start in sports, I became interested in many sports at my Catholic elementary school, St. Malachy, like kickball, cheer, basketball, and track. I noticed volleyball was one of my favorites. Through volleyball, I've learned that if I stay commmitted to tasks and work hard, I succeed. I have also developed a love for track and field during at my high school, Cardinal Ritter, especially the 300 meter hurdles and pole vaulting. In the Spring of 2021, I broke my high school's 300 meter hurdle record which had stood for 32 years. As much as I love sports, I know that academics are very important. My academic goal for high school is to maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Plus I was inducted into the National Honor Society during the Fall of 2021. To get to where I am today, I've had to learn the meaning of sacrifice and dedication which I am prepared to do in order to be a student athlete. I understand that being a student is the most important and then athlete comes next.
