Allison Daves '23 Recruiting Profile

     Hi my name is Allison Daves. I am a part of the class of 2023 at Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis, IN. I am a left handed RS/OH and I also set for my school team.

     I am on The Academy 17-2 Riptide this club season as a right side. We recently placed second in silver in the President's Day Classic in St. Louis. This club season so far has forced me out of my comfort zone and has allowed me to work on using a big block to my advantage and finding new ways to beat it. I also play for my school as a right side hitter and a setter playing 6 rotations. I have been on the varsity team since my freshman year, and I like the new challenges each year brings and thinking of how I can best help my team to get better every practice and game, and ultimately help us to a victory.

     I am good at reading the court and the block to see where to best put the ball to have the most effective outcome. If I can't put a ball down, I do my best to at least put the other team out of system so my team can get the ball back and win the point.

     I ended my junior school season with 348 kills with a .351 hitting percentage and 256 digs. I was elected Player of the Year and Most Improved Player by my high school coaching staff last season. I was also 2nd in Indiana in kills for right side hitters. We ended 18-13 for the season and I am excited for what is to come next year!
