Maliya Freeman '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I'm Maliya Freeman, I play volleyball for Clay High School as well as Krush Volleyball Club. I also participate in basketball, softball, and track for Clay High School. I made All NIC 2021 Freshmen year for basketball. I also made honorable mention as a sophomore for volleyball. As well as being in the top 5 in the conference of volleyball with top 4 being seniors. In 2023 I made 2nd team all conference in the NIC. I started playing volleyball in 7th grade and it quickly became my favorite sport. 

 I am currently taking college classes as a senior at Ivy Tech Community College. So that I can have my associates degree by the time I graduate. I plan to major in exercise science when I get to college. I also love art and digital media, so I hope to also be able to do something in that field of study. 

I am looking for a competitive and dynamic volleyball team with an amazing bond. I value the bond I have with my teammates a lot! I am also looking for a coach that is willing to critique me and give me tips while playing. I value diversity and inclusion. Being part of an inclusive environment is important to me. I have a diverse background being African American and part of the LGBTQ+ community. I look forward to furthering my education which embracing the challenges of athletics.
