The Olympics. Isn’t that how a sport interest starts for so many? As a competitive gymnast for 7 years, I was starting to feel like my mind and body were telling me it was time to do something different. I watched Indoor and Beach Volleyball during the Olympics and it looked like so much fun. The teamwork, the athleticism of the players, the excitement of every play being different and the celebration on every point! I knew that this was the sport for me and I have never looked back. 

Gymnastics is a team sport — but it is still very individual — and I always felt like something was missing. What I love about volleyball is that everyone has a part to play on that court. I love being a part of that effort. Dedication translates to all the sports I have done in my life - dance, soccer, basketball, gymnastics and volleyball. I am so glad I found volleyball…or did volleyball find me?
