Hi, my name is Lily Davidson. I am currently a Senior at Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, MA. I first started playing rec volleyball in 3rd grade and honestly, I wanted to quit because passing hurt my arms. Thankfully, my parents didn’t let me and after that first season, I did start to enjoy volleyball. In 6th grade, I began playing 12U club volleyball at Mt. Olympus VBC (Mt O) in Salt Lake City, UT and that is when I really began to fall in love with it. From that point on, all I wanted to do was play volleyball. A few years later, I ended up thanking my parents for not letting me quit (and they love to remind me of that story and the fact that they were right). I started out as an outside and have spent time as an opposite as well and consider myself a pin hitter. Having spent time playing on both sides of the court, I can honestly say I love either one just as much as the other. I’m a very hard worker and a great teammate. I always try my hardest and always make sure my teammates feel appreciated when they do something well whether I’m on or off the court. Currently, I play for Central Mass Juniors VBC (CMASS) and I'm on the CMASS Edge 18 Black team. Last year I was on the CMASS Edge 17 Black team and we came in 1st place in the Northeast Region. I’m always putting the time and effort in to get better. I like to take private lessons when I can and I’ve got a personal trainer to help me get stronger, move faster, and jump higher on the court. I have always been told that I am a very coachable player and I’m dedicated to being the best player I can be. Not only am I dedicated to myself and my team, but I am also dedicated to the sport overall. I made my high school Varsity team my Sophomore year and I was so honored to be one of only two Sophomores to make the Varsity team and the only Sophomore starter. Last season was a lot of fun as a returning Varsity player and at the end of the season, I was named a Captain for my Senior year. My long term goal with volleyball is to continue to play in college while earning a degree. I put the same amount of effort into school as I do in volleyball and while I’m still not quite sure what I want to do in the future, I always work my hardest and aim to do the best I can. I enjoy staying active whether it’s playing volleyball or biking, skiing, and hiking. However, I will always love volleyball the most and hope to continue playing as long as I can.
