My earliest memories of volleyball come from playing with my grandmother, a
collegiate volleyball player, in her backyard. I had always been an athletic person, even before I
began playing volleyball. I used to play recreational soccer in lower school. Additionally, I was
on the swim team and basketball team in the early years of middle school. However, no sport
has felt as fun as volleyball. Unlike other sports, no one person can “be” the team because you
need every player to contribute to play competitively. I have been lucky to have had many great
volleyball experiences, including playing a high school season as an eighth grader and playing at
state my freshman year. I would like anyone reviewing my profile to know that I am a hard
worker on and off the court. Academics and volleyball are both important to me, and I hope to
attend a college that allows me to excel in both areas.
