Hi, I am Sophie Gardiner! I’m a 6’0” tall middle hitter out of Prior Lake, Minnesota. I have played volleyball since fifth grade. Volleyball has been an incredible influence on the person I am today. I have gained confidence in my athletic abilities, communication, and leadership. Through volleyball, I continuously learn how a strong work ethic is crucial in becoming the best player/person I can be. This includes recognizing my mistakes and opportunities, learning from them, and working hard to improve. It is a bar that is continuously raising that challenges me to become the best possible student-athlete I can be. I am an extremely hard worker and tireless competitor always putting everything I have on the court.
My collegiate goals academically include pursuing my studies in biology. I have a 4.2 GPA and I am also near the top of my class of over 700 people. In school, I participate in yearbook, Unified, national honors societ, and Jr. Optimist where I learn the importance of helping others in my community. In addition to volleyball, I play basketball and run track for my school.
I have truly enjoyed working hard for every coach I have had throughout my volleyball career. Their feedback is the spark that ignites me and my teammates to grow together. Being a supportive teammate and a positive influence on my team is just as important to me. When I play volleyball I feel alive and that is why I am determined to play collegiate volleyball.
