When I think about my future, I think about how successful I could be if I push myself to be the best person I can be. As my club coach says, “What will happen if you give 150% every day? What could you achieve?” Staying devoted to my academics and athletics is a big deal to me. Whether it be going to the gym or studying for my next test, I am constantly doing something to improve my athletic ability or to improve my grades. Doing something daily to enhance your short term and long term goals will always pay off in the long run. Playing at the collegiate level at a school well fit for me would be the ultimate accomplishment.
As a student, athlete, and person, I am very determined and cooperative. I have only been playing volleyball for about 2 years now. Majority of athletes attempting to play at the collegiate level have been playing since they were 12 or even younger. To me, this shows that I am willing to put forth the effort to go to the next level, and I have proven that I am just as athletic and capable despite the late start. While playing school and club volleyball, I tend to have a huge leadership role. Many of my teammates have a tendency to look to me to call plays or to help direct them where to go in different rotations. Not only am I a team leader, but I am also very coachable. I always try my best to apply what my coach is telling me to do immediately. Academically, I am extremely precise and responsible. When it comes to school, I like to be ahead of the game. With my busy schedule, being ahead of my school work is immensely important.
My main goal or priority as a student athlete is to succeed academically. I want to be able to pursue my athletic career while also balancing my school work. Another goal of mine is to make it to the collegiate level of volleyball. Volleyball is a fairly new commitment in my life, but it has made a huge impact on me in this short period of time. It has helped me grow tremendously as a person, physically and mentally.
