Personal Statement

Why I'm Drawn to the Game:

From the moment I put on my first #10 jersey to my three-peat experiences at GJNC, I’ve loved every minute of this sport and dreamed of playing at the college level. For me, volleyball has always been my safe place. Whether it was practicing with teams, working with coaches or just hitting the ball up against our garage, volleyball is that place where I can go focus on one thing. It challenges me, humbles me and yet, it gives me a sense of pride and confidence. It drains me but also gives me the energy and mental strength I need to meet life’s challenges on and off the court.

What Makes Me Stand Out as a Player:

There are so many great players, it isn’t easy to jump in there and say how great I am. Everyone at this level has good stats and has worked with outstanding coaches. I guess what makes me stand out is I always make being a team player a priority. Whether playing outside, opposite or stepping up as a middle, setter or even on defense, I know it’s always the best decision to do what’s best for the team. That, in turn, makes me a better player as well.

What I'm Searching for in a School:

Just as I strive to push myself to constantly be better as a player, I also thrive on competition in the classroom. In my search for a good fit, I am looking for a school that will challenge and help me develop skills I need to compete successfully--athletically and academically. An accredited, academic university with educators and graduates among the top in their fields is extremely important to me.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
