Mikayla Ziemianski '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Mikayla and I’m a an athlete who loves teamwork and the fast pace of the game. I just completed my Varsity season finishing 2nd in the State Tournament. I look forward to continuing in college in an even higher, more competitive environment.

Recommendation Letter for Mikayla

I get the pleasure of writing these recommendation letters for several student athletes and this is one of the easiest to write.  Mikayla demonstrates who she is every day, in and out of the gym.  Passion, Determination, Competitiveness, Natural Leadership and Outstanding teammate are the words that came to mind immediately.  Let me explain each outstanding attribute in more detail:

Passion – Mikayla plays middle for us on the volleyball team.  The hardest position on the court, as you have to show extreme hard work, intelligence and desire.  You could tell her passion, as she stayed after practice to improve her skills.  She would ask questions to better understand the position.  Her passion is contagious as now she is the Captain of the middles and leads by both example and vocally. 

Determination – Mikayla like any athlete has struggled with some elite skills, as we continue to introduce new challenges, her mental approach, relentlessness and determination allow her to succeed and surpass each challenge.  

Competitiveness – Mikayla is one of the most competitive players I have coached.  Put a challenge, goal or obstacle in herway and she will work to achieve success.  Mikayla’s competitive nature has allowed her to be one of the best middles in the state.  Junior year, she lead our team in middle kills and will be a major offensive weapon for us in 2023.

Leadership & Top Notch Teammate – This is the most important and impressive skill that Mikayla has.  Mikayla has spent countless hours working with the lower level teams (JV and Freshmen) to help improve their skill, through her experience.  This type of ‘others first’ mentality is very impressive to watch from a high school junior.  At a time in her life, where she could be focused on herself, she is focused on everyone else and ensuring they are successful.  She is a great example of a true and natural leader

Finally, Mikayla would make an outstanding addition to any team, program and/or school.  She is a great person and volleyball player.
