My name is Alexandra Kwasnik. I am a two sport Varsity high school junior at Union Catholic Regional HS in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. I am currently a USAV A2 Middle Blocker on Team VB RAGS 17-National-Carly club team. I am also a Middle Blocker on team GEVA USA; which is my regional team.
As a player, I am a positive, joyful person and teammate, and I’m very driven and competitive. I aim to become a better person and teammate every day, on and off the court. I stand out from other players because I have a great eye at seeing what is unfolding on the other side of the court and reading the other team. Reading opposing hitters and setters well allows me to have an uncanny blocking ability, whether I am playing Middle or Right-side. I have a great work ethic, striving to improve all aspects of my game. I am very committed to playing volleyball at the next level.
Additionally, I am a 3-year varsity high jumper at Union Catholic High School, the 2018 and 2019 Girls State Non-Public A State Champions!!! I am currently ranked among the top high jumpers in the state of New Jersey (#1 at the State Non- Public A Championship, #1 in Conference, #1 in County). My current PR is 5ft 7.75 inches. I competed at the 2018 and 2019 New Balance High School T&F Nationals in Greensboro, NC!! At Nationals I placed 4th; I jumped alongside the best high jumpers in the country!! High jumping is proving very synergistic as it has improved jumping skills and strength on the volleyball court!
I'm currently taking challenging classes in school, where I am viewed as a leader by my teachers. I currently have a 3.75 GPA. I enjoy science and am looking forward to studying biology or pre-med as a major in college, so I can go to medical school after college and become a Pediatric Oncologist.
