Hello My name is Amelia Kirlew, I’m a 16 Sophomore. I was Born in Jamaica, I migrated to The United States when I was 9 years old. I’ve had a love for Volleyball ever since I was young. I started playing Volleyball 7th grade of my Middle School year. I showed up to practice and games always, I made sure I was dedicated. Then in 8th grade year of middle school I was elected to be the Captain for Mount Vernon knights JV team. The first day of my Freshman year of High I attended the Volleyball meeting for tryouts,I went to the tryouts and I made the team. Later on that year I went to practice every day. Due to lack of trust between my dad and I, I was only allowed to practice with the team and not playing in the games. Now my Sophomore I’ve managed to have a better relationship with my dad and I convinced him to let me do something I genuinely love to do and that is to play Volleyball. From now on I pledge to make the next 3 years of high School the years to prosper and shine.
