Ava Maresca '25 Recruiting Profile

My first year of playing volleyball was in seventh grade. I've been playing ever since then, and my strong love and dedication for this sport began my freshman year of high school after playing club for the first time. I'm constantly getting complements from coaches, parents and players on my positive attitude, skill, coachability and team-player characteristics. I'm fully dedicated to reaching my high-set goals for this sport. I play beach, grass, and court volleyball, and I challenge myself in each setting to be a better player. Being an undersized middle, i’ve had multiple people see my height as a disadvantage; however, it only motivates me to prove them wrong. I’ve learned to become faster, obtain a higher vertical, and work my way around the block to find open spots on the court. Additionally, I feel that team chemistry is the most important factor when on the court. I always make sure to work with my teammates, trust them, and build our bond. My goal is to be the loudest on the court, and to create an uplifting, energetic environment for my teammates and I. Academically, I always make sure to put my best foot forward. I stay on top of my work and set personal goals for myself. Im also a part of Buccaneer University, an organization that introduces and welcomes middle schoolers to the high school as well as helps with student government related topics and upcoming events. Volleyball has been my passion since the day I started playing, and I am contuining to work hard and grow as both a player and a student.
