In college I plan on majoring in a biochemistry and take my academics as seriously as I take volleyball. I am enrolled in AP and honors class and will accept any challenge that comes my way. As an incoming junior in the fall, I plan on going for the IB diploma. I am looking for a college or university that meets my needs as an athlete and student.
On the volleyball court, I am a leader and understand that in order for a team to win we need to communicate and work as a team. I play Middle Blocker on my High School and club team. I am also able to play right side or outside hitter during rotations. On my high school team, I was brought up to varsity this year as a sophomore and started this entire season. My teammates on my club team nominated me to be their captain for the club season.
I understand that coaches are the behind the scenes that make everything possible. I am a very coachable athlete and am able to listen and apply all the different techniques and tips that my coaches have to offer. I always try to help those around me as well. Whenever I may be around a younger athlete, I like to try and make her the best possible player that she can be as well.
I am known on my team for keeping spirits high and getting everyone ready for the next point. Whether that be on or off the court I constantly try to cheer my teammates up and get them all in the right mindset to play. If the game is on the line I am able to calm my team down and get them to where we need to be. I will encourage them and make sure everyone wants to win the game. I understand that volleyball is a game of mistakes but I believe that the way to win is to learn from the mistakes. I strive for both myself and my team to not dwell on the mistakes that are made but rather learn from them and keep pushing.
I am known for my competitive nature and my all-around play on the court. I constantly push myself and my team to be the best that we can possibly be. I will do anything to win and will always leave my 110% on the court.
