Hi! My name is Delia Ryan and I am a 2024 graduate from Rockville Centre, New York. I attend South Side High School. I made the varsity volleyball team as a freshman, and I made the varsity softball team as a freshman. I became the starting libero for South Side this year, which is something I am very proud of. We were Conference Champions and placed 2nd in the County Championship. I had 427 digs (2nd highest in Nassau County), 48 assists, and 34 aces across 18 games. As a softball player, I earned the Golden Glove award for my team last year as a sophomore. I am a dedicated student-athlete that always gives one hundred percent in anything I set out to do. I am very interested in playing college volleyball. I have always been on the top team for club volleyball, Club Ace Long Island (CALI), when I was 14 (14 Black or 14-1) and 15 (15 Black or 15-1). I now play for Sportime Volleyball Club, and I was on their top team (16 Gold or 16-1) and I am on their top team again (17 Gold or 17-1). When I was 15, during my club season, my teammates elected me as captain, which is an accomplishment I am very proud of. I love communicating on the court and encouraging my teammates. I believe and have been told by many coaches that I have the "it" factor as a libero. I enter the court each game with enthusiasm and energy, pumping my teammates up as much as I can. I am successful academically as well; my GPA is a 98.3/100.0. When I am not playing volleyball, I attend many activities that help children with disabilities. I have a brother with autism who inspires me everyday to be a better person. I also became Vice President of the Help Uganda Club as a 10th grader, which is an organization that helps families in need in Uganda. I volunteered to assist the middle school volleyball coach for their 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. I ran a volleyball clinic for younger players as a summer job. I am able to balance playing volleyball for a very high level team, while maintaining good grades, participating in clubs and helping my brother in any way I can. I plan to study education in college in hopes of bringing my knowledge, enthusiasm, and inspiration to the classroom.
