Hi, my name is Ashley Weatherwax and I am a libero/setter. I started playing in eighth grade, however, I didn't discover my passion for volleyball until my freshman year playing on varsity. The intensity and the excitement was really the part that piqued my interest the most. Screaming so loud your throat hurts; high-fiving each other so hard your hands sting; diving so much it leaves bruises; there is literally no other feeling that can compare. I have been a libero for Pierson Highschool for the past three years and for one travel season for LI Blaze but this season I have changed to a setter for my school team. I adjusted to the position change surprisingly well as I am adaptable, an excellent communicator, and very coachable. Something that is crucial to me in a team is having a good bond with one another, which results in trusting that each player will do their part on the court. I am looking to major in Chemistry/Biology as I want to pursue something regarding organic chemistry/pharmaceuticals.
