I have always been hard on myself. Whether it was sports or school I wouldn't allow myself to make mistakes. If I made a mistake, I would convince myself I was horrible and worthless. The older I got the worse it got. My mother and one very memorable coach helped me understand and realize that making mistakes was okay and is the only way to get better. During the past year I have been trying my hardest to work on my skills but mostly my mental game and I have been imporoving enormously. I realized when I stopped being as hard on myself that I was playing much better and actually having fun while doing it. Sometimes it is still hard to accept my mistakes but I push through the negative thoughts as best I can. Even though I have improved a great amount, I will continue to better myself in both my physical skills but especially my mental game because it is just about the most important skill you can have.
