My name is Amy Webster and I started playing volleyball at age nine. After competing in soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, swimming, gymnastics, and softball, I realized volleyball was my passion. I had never enjoyed a sport more than I enjoy volleyball from having relationships with my teammates to the logic of the game every play is one to remember. Whenever I go into the game I try to bring a boost of energy from getting exited about a point to creating an energy boosting point. No matter what is happening on the court I try to be the best leader I can be for my team. Striving to show good sportsmanship and providing energy for my team are very important to me.
Academics are very important to me because they are the stepping stones for my future. My goal is to pursue a degree in either medicine or education. I strive to maintain an A average in all of my courses. My favorite subjects are math and science which is one big reason I would like to pursue the medicine field. Along with academics and athletics I try to also stay involved with clubs. The clubs I am a member of this year are FCA, STUG, and Interact club. During my 7th and 8th grade years I was blessed to work with the special education students in the PEP program, and got to volunteer with the Special Olympics for two years. I am also a three season athlete by playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Outside of school I am involved with my church by frequently volunteering in the preschool ministry.
I am looking for a special place with high academic standards and a highly valued athletic program as well. My goal is to find a volleyball program with a strong family atmosphere. I believe in being a team player and I feel that I am capable of filling many different roles. My dream is to play college volleyball and i will work extremely hard to obtain my goal. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me.
