Hi, my name is Kelsey and I am a 2024 setter looking to find a college where I can continue my educational and athletic journey.
I'm excited for these changes and hope to continue to grow and improve as a player building off some recent acknowledgements and successes that I had the humbling privilege to earn my senior season. 1) NC Volleyball Association - 2023 Player to Watch; 2) WRAL Tom Suiter Extra Effort Award Winner; 3) Chatham Journal - Player of the Week; 4) 1000 Career Assists; and 5) New School Record for Career Assists - 1074 and 6) 1st Team All Conference. I am also honored to be highly ranked in multiple stats (via Max Preps) within my conference and division in North Carolina.
What makes me unique: One of my accomplishments that I am the most proud of, which I believe shows determination, perseverance, and drive is that I have perfect daily attendance since I started school in kindergarten. This is something that very few people can claim and that makes it important to me. I believe it shows a commitment to my education and my teammates by being present.
My educational goal is to study psychology and to continue playing volleyball at the next level. Faith, family, and friends are high priorities in my life. I currently have a 4.57 weighted GPA placing me as #1 in my class rank.
I am 5'6" tall and weigh about 130 pounds. I am 3-sport athlete (since 6th grade) and have been playing recreational sports since I was 6 years old. During that time, I have played recreational, travel, club, middle school, and high school sports that included volleyball, basketball, and softball. I have made some amazing friendships along the way and will miss playing with them after graduation, but I am excited to devote myself full-time to volleyball while in college. It has become my passion, as I have truly fallen in love with the sport. Other than sports, I am very active in numerous clubs at my school including Yearbook Editor and Executive Board President for my high school. I am also very active at my church through youth programs and volunteering to help with younger children in the nursery and Children's Church.
I hope after reading a little bit about me, you think I will be a good addition to your program. I will work hard, accept criticism and instruction, and while I do understand that taking this next step can be challenging, I am ready to work hard and continue to improve or learn new skills so I can perform to the best of my ability not only for myself but also for my team. Please let me know if you have any questions. I am very excited to see where this journey will take me!
Thanks for your time!
Kelsey
