I am far from perfect, but I certainly know how to push myself, reflect and to grow as a person, athlete, and employee. My favorite way to ease my mind and bring me to peace is the sport of volleyball. I have been playing since 8th grade year. I grew up a competitive swimmer. I trained hard in the pool and qualified for special meets but swimming never gave me the feeling that volleyball does. There is nothing better than the battle of a tough match, hearing the cheering of the crowds after a great play and the feeling the sweat drip down my face. Working with my teammates and developing my skills as a volleyball player is my favorite way to spend my time.
Volleyball has brought joy to my life and has taught me to work hard and time manage. Volleyball and swim has taught me how to fail and to fail with grace. I know what it feels like to work so hard for something, to give up time with friends to not meet my goals. Those moments have taught me the most about myself. I have been involved and serious about my academics since early age due to myself always striving to be the best I can be and my parents and coaches pushing me to do my best in the classroom. The constant exhaustion reminds me of how hard I am working and reassures me that I am doing something for my future, something worth while and to keep doing what I am doing. I know how to bring energy to the court and the classroom. I know how to mesh and work with people who I may not always see eye to eye with, all thanks to my parents. My parents have pushed me to succeed and be better. I have not always had it easy, I have struggled like everyone else but I do not let that effect others around me. I work to lighten the teams mood, I work to comfort to the team, I want to bring a sense of competitiveness and thirst for victory for the team. I want myself and everyone around me to succeed. I have grown up moving around every 2-3 years due to my dads rank in the Army. I never really had a chance to settle down as a child until recently, but with that negative came a positive, I gained the ability to talk and meet people! My dad has sacrificed so much for my family, The country and especially for myself! My dad has always shown me the importance of hard work, the value of honesty and how it can get you far in life and help me to reach my goals. My ultimate goal is to play collegiate volleyball. Because of the way my parents have raised me, my life experiences as a military child, my hard work and dedication, and my love for the game I believe I have the skills it takes to reach my goals.
