Akiya Phillips '20 Recruiting Profile

My current goals are to be recruited by a college and play collegiate volleyball. I want to join a team and become a member that will play a part in making the team the best that it can be. I believe that I have been blessed to lead by example. I am honest, hardworking, and very dependable. God has blessed me with the ability to delegate and the ability to inspire. I feel that all of those things are needed for the common goal of any team. What makes me different is that right now I have 12 years of perfect attendance. I have never missed a day from school after starting in kindergarten to 11th grade. I am a 3 year member of the National Honor Society and I serve as the Secretary. I was currently voted to serve as the Student Body President for the 2019-2020 school year. I have been a 2 time MVP for my varsity volleyball team and a 3 time MVP for the varsity basketball team. The past year we had a very young team and when others doubted us I chose to rise to the occasion to help us secure wins for matches and for the entire game. I believe that a team never loses but they either win or learn from a game.  This year we learned a lot and I cannot wait to where will go with the lessons that were learned from our past season.
