Hello my name is Mia Hernandez. I’ve been playing volleyball since the 7th grade. Beginning volleyball I never thought I would have so much passion for it as I do now. My freshman year of high school was when I started taking the sport much more seriously. Freshman year, I truly began to understand the game and learned how to be an overall better player. As my main position I play as an Outside Hitter and also play as a Defensive Specialist. I am a very competitive player and well disciplined. Playing on the court I make sure to have a positive attitude. I’ve learned not to let little mistakes bring you down, because it affects how you play on the court and affects your teammates. I’ve also learned that talking positively on the court and sharing that excitement with others helps lead to accomplishments, defeating other teams. When it comes to making mistakes on the court I find it very important to understand what I did wrong and how I can fix it. I go over film a lot after my games to see things I can improve on. Hearing feedback from coaches and peers is something I take very seriously and I try to use to my advantage. I hope to continue my volleyball career in college.
