My name is Ava Blanton, I am Libero/DS and I play for Gaston Day School. Volleyball is not just a sport for me; it’s a passion. It's my job to work as hard as I can and improve with every practice. Playing volleyball in college is a goal I have worked very hard for during my high school career.
I have learned that being a great player requires much more than just physical abilities. It requires things like leadership, communication, learning to be a team player, and doing what's best for the team instead of what's best for me. I believe that I managed to acquire these skills and I am constantly striving to improve in every aspect of my game.
In addition to my dedication and passion for the sport, I have also had the opportunity to compete at a high level. I play for Carolina One 17-1, I am the Libero and State a champion at Gaston Day, and a 2024 All-Conference/All-State athlete. I am confident that my experience at this level has prepared me for the challenges that come with playing at an elite level.
