As a student-athlete, I strive to be the best that I can be on and off the court, and I am willing to put in the work necessary to achieve my goals. I am currently a freshman taking AP and honors courses, and I finished my freshman year with 4.0 unweighted GPA. My academic goals include graduating high school with a diploma and an associates degree. I would like to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry during my undergrad studies, with the aspiration of becoming a dentist. I am the president of my high school's Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) club.
As an athlete, I play school and club volleyball and softball. As a freshman and captain of the JV volleyball team, I was pulled up to the varsity volleyball team and became the starting setter, although I can play multiple positions. I earned All-Conference honors and led the team in multiple stats, even though I joined the team 3 weeks into the season. During practices, camps, and private lessons, I work hard and like to see my progression as I become better at specific skills or try a new position. Although I am extremely competitive, my favorite part of being in team sports is the people I play with. We support each other in wins and losses, we work through obstacles together, and I have become really good friends with a lot of my teammates. In addition to earning All-Conference 1st team honors in volleyball, I was also named All-Conference 1st team for softball as well.
As a teenager, school, athletics, and life can seem difficult, but I have learned to persevere. Since the age of 4, I have struggled with hearing loss. I currently wear a hearing aid and have received speech services throughout school. However, I have learned to strive in spite of my disability and advocate for myself.
During my free time, I work on my family's small farm, I am a member of my church's youth group, and I volunteer in my community.
