As a student-athlete, I strive to become a leader both on and off the court!
Academically, I currently hold a 4.3889 weighted GPA. In addition to my High School load (and volleyball load), I have been attending online and evening classes at Forsyth College; I will be graduating from High School with an Associate in Science Degree. I require a college/university that has a Bachelor in Biology program so I may transfer on to become a Chiropractor. I also would like to study abroad while volleyball is in
the off season.
Athletically, during my sophomore year, I was named the M.V.P. for my High School basketball team. In volleyball, I was the top scoring player for my School. In the Junior Olympics, I was voted The M.V.P. for the USA Volleyball Carolina Regional Championships. On May 4, 2010, I achieved the
starting middle-hitter position on the Carolina Region Girls Junior International USA High Performance Volleyball Team.
Athletically, during my junior year, I was named All-Conference as a middle-hitter for my High School volleyball team. On November 6, 2010, I achieved the middle-hitter position for the Piedmont Mizuno Volleyball Club 17’s National Team. We competed throughout the United States during the season and won in Washington D.C. at the Monument Classic Tournament.
Academically, after my junior year, I applied to the University of Cambridge in England; I was accepted and
successfully attended four college classes, receiving all A’s. I chose this educational rout instead of trying out for the HP 2011 Volleyball Team.
As a senior volleyball player, I am continually trying to leave my mark in the minds of the younger players.
Enthusiastically communicating my knowledge of the mechanics of the game to my younger teammates, I hope to imprint an educated legacy. It is my hope that this effort will result in a stronger, more successful team in years come. I desire to share my passion for this amazing sport and hope to inspire the
future players with my love for the game.
For my senior year I have been moved to OH. Because I am six feet tall with a very powerful swing, this
position allows me to utilize my power. Depending upon the opponent and because of my experience on the court, I am rotated into the middle position on occasion to be more useful offensively and defensively. Having taken individual volleyball technique training, I am also a RS and find that my setter training comes in handy for the team. When trying out for the Piedmont National Team this fall, I will be trying out as an OH.
Extracurricular activities include traveling as much as possible both inside and outside America with my family touring museums, historic places, and God’s natural wonders. As a volleyball player on the National Team, I am blessed to see many major cities throughout the U.S.. As a way of volunteering in my community, I periodically teach others how to play volleyball on Sunday afternoons. Living on a horse ranch, helping
raise, train, and show our Shire horses on a State level; I have won tumultuous awards showing them. I played the violin for many years. As a member of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts in Minnesota, I took myriad classes. I took a Plein Air oil painting class with Heiner Hertling, a renowned landscape and wildlife inter/artist. Lastly, I love to read; my favorite type of book is a fantasy book that transports me into a place inaccessible but through the mind and imagination.
As an academic and athletic leader in my School, I strive to instill good time management skills to my peers by leading through example. Successfully juggling long volleyball practices and travels, a High School educational load, and a college load, has allowed me to reach my academic and athletic goals.
Academically and athletically, I endeavor to exemplify a leadership role both on and off the court!
