Kaia Schluchter '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Kaia. I am from Cavalier, ND. I am looking for a small school. My town is very small, and I enjoy it so much. I enjoy being able to see someone on the street and knowing who they are. I believe that I am a good candidate for your team. I am a very positive person. I have great skills that make me a great teammate. I have lived on a farm my whole life, and I have been involved in 4-H since I was little. Being apart of this culture has made me a hard worker. I always try my best. I believe that I am different from other recruits for one big reason. I have been playing volleyball since I was a little girl. I have played almost every position. In 7th grade, I played a setter. Then in 8th grade, my team ran a 6-2, so I played a setter in the back and a right side hitter in the front. My freshman year I played JV and sat and played some varsity. I played an outside on JV. When I went into a varsity match, I usually played defense for one of our middles. My sophomore year I played and started varsity. I was a 5'5" middle hitter going up against much bigger girls. My junior year I started varsity. I started by playing the right side hitter. However due to an injury I was moved to the outside. I ended up playing all six rotations and serving.
