Meghan Waters '19 Recruiting Profile

I have a passion for service and helping others. I will be going on a Medical Mission Trip with the Salvation Army and The Cleveland Clinic in January of 2019 to the rainforests and mountains of Honduras in Central America. I am looking forward to helping bring needed medical supplies, medicines and health care to those in need. I have extensive experience in volunteering including being a mentor/coach for the Special Olympics for the last 4 years.

I strive to be positive both on and off the court and pride myself in trying to help my teammates elevate their game through positive play, attitude helping to bring a positive energy to the team as a whole.

A few aspects of my volleyball game that I am particularly proud of are the fact that I am an aggressive server who leads my team in aces while maintaining a serve percentage of nearly 92%, I am also very flexible and actually have the ability to flex to OH when the need arises for my team. I obviously much prefer DS/L but can serve other roles if the need should arise. Maybe more importantly than all that, I am a confident serve receiver and an aggressive defender with a positive and mentally touch court demeanor.

I am an Honors study with a current cumulative GPA over 4.0 and I am interested in studying in a field of the Biologic Sciences. I do not have it completely narrowed down yet but fields of study that I am considering range from Zoology and Conservation Science to Forensic Biology to even Pre-Health Sciences.

I believe in working hard to make our fellow humans better and that includes family, friends, roommates, teammates and even people I have never even met before in Central America. I believe this type of positive attitude can bring a lot to a team whether it is my volleyball team or my "team" of friends and family.
