Hi my name is Brianna Nichols and I am an Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist class of 2026.
I am a multi-sport athlete, playing club soccer as well as club volleyball. I have also competed in track and field and ultimate frisbee. I was awarded Award of Excellence (MVP) of my club team, MVP of my U16 school soccer team, MVP of both my U16 & U18 school volleyball team and Intermediate Female Athlete of the Year in June 2022, June 2023 & June 2024. In addition to my athletic accomplishments, I was awarded the class valedictorian for the middle school class of 2021 and was awarded with academic distinction in 2022, 2023 & 2024.
I have been playing volleyball for 6 years, both at the club level but also for my school. I initially began as a Middle Blocker & Setter but have moved to Left Side due to both my attack capabilities but also my strong defensive skills. Being a 5'9" OH is not an easy job but I love watching players like Chloe Chicoine show how a versatile 6-position attacker can be effective. Volleyball is my favorite sport because I love the energy from being involved in each and every point not to mention the positivity after every sequence.
As part of my drive to become a better & stronger volleyball player I began working out with a personal trainer, both 1-on-1 and with my team. This extra training has contributed to my on-court performance. I train (off-court) once a week with my team and two additional times with a personal trainer.
While my field of study is still being decided between Life Sciences and Physiotherapy, I do know that I want to include volleyball when I graduate. My goal is to continue to play at the top level and to play at a top university while continuing to challenge myself academically. Initially I was considering graduating in 2025 but while it was a tough decision to re-class but given my late birthday (Dec 31st) it felt like I would benefit from being a year older and stronger before moving on to the challenge of University-level volleyball.
I am excited to show how I can contribute to a NCAA volleyball program.
