My name is Dakota Barisan, I am a left side hitter from Ontario, Canada and part of the Class of 2022. Currently, I play for Niagara Rapids Volleyball 18U Elite team as well as Westlane Secondary School's senior team, I am a co-captain on both teams.
Ever since I started playing volleyball in grade 9, I have known I wanted to play the game at the collegiate level, the idea of pushing myself as an athlete and as a student beyond highschool and club has done nothing but inspire me to be a better athlete for myself physically and mentally, and also for my teammates and coaches who have done nothing but help and support me as a member and captain of there team.
My positive attitude towards my teamates on and off the court, as well as the numerous hours I have put into strength, conditioning, positioning and nutrition show the dedication I have to this sport. My Academic Studdies have always been just as important as my athletic training, I have and continue to put many hours into school and have been able to maintain a high academic average while also having a busy sport and work schedule. Due to the reasons above, I believe I would be a great canidate for a collegiate team.
