Volleyball is simply my passion and has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I started playing when I was 6 years old and I've enjoyed every single moment of it. I have worked hard these past few years for something I wanted to reach, a dream I wanted to reach which is playing at a high university level.
I am certain that I would be a great candidate for any team as I am very skilled and bring a positive energy on and off the court. I have been working since last year with former NCAA coach Sam Ojie in setting lessons and other camps of the kind. I have also been working with the former national Mexican coach Jorge Azair and former Mexican national setter Pedro Rangel in which I learned a ton of new setting drills to improve even more and I had the great opportunity to talk with Pedro Rangel and understand the way the mindset of one of the best setters works, for me to be able to apply it on the court.
I have done a lot of individual training as well to reach the next level and get better each time. Since last year's summer I went very often by myself to a school nearby my house, and spent a couple hours per day doing a bunch of different setting drills, hitting at the wall, practicing my leftie and more. I was able to notice a huge improvement in my game play and skills when the season started, due to all the practice I had by myself. I felt really excited about being able to practice the whole summer and challenge myself to a lot of new techniques I hadn't none and to perfection the ones I didn't have. Since then, I've also been training my dad who is a very experienced setter as well as we go to the park and practice dozens of different drills.
I believe that something that separates me from others, is the fact that I do not only enjoy playing the game, but I also love watching it. I follow a lot of pro volleyball as I watch leagues, tournament like VNL and more. I have a lot of player figures that I look up to like amazing setters such as Micah Christenson, Luciano De Cecco, Bruno Rezende and more. It is always unbelievable to watch them play and see the things they do on the court. I always try to analyze the things they do, and why they do them to be able to really keep on adopting the way the mind of a pro setter, like them, works.
Keeping in mind all this, I am also a very responsible student. I have always been very attentive to my academics and get good grades. I always complete my work on time, study for my tests, and am always up to date in what I missed in class when I wasn't able to go to school. I am capable of all this because of my time management and my way of organizing my time with school and volleyball.
