Alison Buchholz '21 Recruiting Profile

My love for volleyball started when I was in first grade, hitting balls against the wall during my sister's volleyball practice.  I watched and learned for two years before finally playing on a CYO team in third grade.  Since then my love, confidence and desire to play has grown stronger with each year, setting new and higher goals for myself and my team. Volleyball is a family affair, with my mother coaching CYO, my sisters playing and my dad cheering and taking pictures.  Their support and mentoring made me want to be the best I could be on and off the court.  They taught me all about teamwork and playing with heart, while keeping it fun.

Age Quod Agis.  Our school motto at Jesuit, "Do Well Whatever You Do" Attending Jesuit I try to live these words every day.  The Jesuit community has a profound effect on me and I  strive to do well and to be a leader, a woman for others on the court and in my daily life. The academics are rigorous and the athletics are competitive, but I feel like my high school experience is setting me up for success in college and later.

I love being part of a team.  Volleyball is my passion and I bring grit, determination and a high volleyball IQ to every practice, every game. I set a high bar for myself personally, academically and athletically that will continue in college and beyond.
