When I was eight years old I went to my school volleyball try out and I was left out of the team. I was sure that I was an athletic girl but I never played volleyball before. I thought that I was selected and was impressed that I did not make the team, so the next day I wanted my parents to put me in volleyball clinics because for next year I wanted to be in the team and dominate. So I did took clinics, joined a club and next year I was in the team. I played for my school volleyball team ever since fifth grade.
Since very young I learned that nothing comes easy and if you want to reach goals you need to work hard and prepare yourself. If a word defines me well is perseverance.
I have been playing volleyball officially since I was nine years old. My main position at club league was middle blocker until 14 U. I always loved defense so from 15 U on I changed for the libero position. At 15 U I was more a defensive specialist and in 16 U until present I have been a libero in club league.
At school I played mainly outside hitter and opposite hitter until 9th grade. At tenth grade my school coach knew I wanted to be libero and trusted me the position.
I am a very enthusiastic and focused player. For my new libero position I not only trained and took extra clinics but also watched professional games. All this enabled me to play the position at the level required for the category.
At school I also play basketball and indoor soccer.
My school days are not limited to taking classes, study hard and play sports. I am also a leader. I am an active member of my school student council for the last three years and before that I was a member of our class directive since elementary school. I have been organizing our class pep rally event for the last four years by selecting the themes, songs and developing the choreography along with other class leaders. I am also a member of the Italian club for the last two years and the drama club actively participating as an actress in various role characters since seventh grade.
Libero position requires a lot of discipline, enthusiasm and leadership. I consider that I possess these qualities.
At the long run I want to have my own business, therefore I would like to have the opportunity to attend a college with an excellent business oriented program. I work hard and love to work hard in reaching my goals since I was a little girl.
I have always visualize myself achieving this college/volleyball dream.
