Meredith Hoover '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Meredith and I am very excited to begin the journey to collegiate volleyball! I have six years of volleyball experience in total and three years at the Varsity level. I am involved in other sports including soccer and basketball, and am competitive in all. I believe that it is important to be a well-rounded athlete and that skills can be sharpened by being versatile. I am honored to hold the Captain position for each of the teams that I play on, and take my leadership roles, athletically and extra-curricular, seriously. I am also a focused student. I maintain above a 4.0 GPA and hold leadership positions outside of athletics as well.  I am a strong leader, leading by example, and enjoy pushing myself and those around me to be the best player and person that they can be. I bring positivity and intensity to my teams. I will always strive for excellence no matter what and find that encouragement and communication will always yield a better result for the team as a whole. I have, as a freshman, worked with very skilled hitters, one of which currently plays at the collegiate level. We had a great season and many graduated. The following season was not as successful for the team as a whole, but I was able to adjust and learn how to lean on my other strengths outside of setting to a powerful hitter and I enjoyed learning new areas.  It further convinced me that I am a team player. not an individual sport athlete. I thrive from a team mentality. Volleyball is my main passion and concentration and to continue to compete after high school would be a tremendous opportunity.
