In 2006, I was life flighted to the hospital for croup and I was in the hospital for about one week because it had gotten worse. At that time, my family was with me all day and night long. Later on, that's when I knew that they would support me with the decisions I would make further on in my life. When I first started to play volleyball I was an outside hitter and then one day one of our back row players was gone so I played back row for her. I immediately fell in love with the back row positions!
However, when I started playing volleyball it made me realize that I'm not just there to play, I'm there because the passion I have to play this sport was so much greater than some of the other girls on my team. I also started to learn that I need to be very persistent, especially when it comes to digging and diving, because if I am not, I will never grow and develop as a player.
There have been many obstacles that I've had to overcome but the big obstacle that I am still overcoming is my height. My height is my biggest obstacle because I have a harder time jumping as high as everyone else. Because of this, I always push and work harder than the other girls.
My academic goals for high school are to keep a 4.0 GPA all four years of my high school career, be he best that I can possibly be, and grow mentally, physically, and academically.
