My name is Teylor Albers. I have been playing volleyball since i was in 7th grade. My main positions are outside hitter, DS and libero, but i can play any position in the front and back row if needed. I am a very teachable player and well disciplined. I am dedicated to put in the time and practice to improve myself and my team. I take pride in my performance and not only to represent my program, but the community and school as well.
My freshman year i worked my way to being a varsity starter (playing the position right back defense) and have been playing at that intensity level since. Sophomore year i was switched mid season to play libero. Junior year i was an all around as a outside hitter and left or right DS. My senior year i am currently playing our libero position for my varsity team.
I was awarded Lakota Nation Invitational Best Defensive Player for 2018.
Aside from volleyball, my academic plan for college is to become a nutritionist and/or dietitian. I enjoy being healthy and helping the younger generation to become successful athletes. Not only would it be a good learning experience but it would be something i would carry with me for the rest of my life. I always remembered what my dad told me, “once you start something, you finish it, no questions.” Maybe i was scared i was gonna give up on myself just because it got hard. I wouldn’t say I was wrong to think like that, because the insensible decision i made, landed me exactly where i needed to be. I had to focus on my reason to be here and make the most of it. The opportunity to stay led me to stand on my own feet and overcome difficulties by myself. I became mentally and emotionally stronger and was able to build the life I've wanted for myself. Good or Bad, experiencing all this made me the person I am today and I couldn’t be prouder.
