Personal Statement

I consider myself a well-rounded athlete and student, but also an enthusiast of creation, optimist, and one who tends to stray from the status quo. While I tend to have my face glued to my phone, it’s usually just to read a fantasy fiction novel of my choice on the Kindle app (what I’m usually doing when I’m not playing, practicing, eating, or sleeping). I grew up a military brat, accustomed to constant changes and instability, but since I’ve started playing, the one thing guaranteed to be readily available to me has been volleyball. My teammates may change, my technique improves, but the game doesn’t change and has remained close to my heart. My drive and passion is optimal every time I step on the court and I radiate through playing and through my team. Because while my surroundings may change, the energy I give off on the court is something I can always rely on. What I contribute most to my team is the respect and protectiveness I have for my teammates, great listening skills, quick thinking, and great communication both on and off the court. I know I will never be perfect at this game, but I am always perfecting my craft.

As a student, I am a solid, hard worker. I am currently attending the Academy of Business and Finance, which is preparing me for post-secondary education and careers in the business and finance fields. I hope to continuously excel in the academy and graduating at the top of my class. I then hope to carry what I’ve learned into a Business and Economics degree course in college.
