I am a hard-working 16-year-old Latina, who is ready to portray my abilities academically and athletically. Throughout my academic career, I have always maintained an A in my classes and made the A honor roll every year. I had always wanted to help people through tough times, whether its a vaccination, or CPR, or putting braces. As time advanced and as I grew wiser with the choices of the medical field, my heart fell into the Dental field(Orthodontist) as well as Veterinarian. I hope to be able to double major into two different kinds of sciences so I can have both the ability to fix someone's smile and help a mama dog give birth. My parents have been my motivation to keep moving forward and to do what I love best because they didn't get the ability to go to college and have a more successful profession that they wish they could've had. I believe that what makes me a good candidate is my determination and optimism to bring the team to success. Putting in the sweat, time, and effort makes a better athlete and helps contribute to the team. My goal is to create memories, history, and love within the team and make the most out of it to come out strong. My differences compared to other athletes is that I wasn't born to play volleyball at first. I was so bad that I didn't even make the team in eighth grade when I tried out, but I didn't let that stop me from trying again. High school came and I ended up making the Freshman team; sophomore year I started on Junior Varsity and within two weeks into the season, I got moved up to Varsity, and then my current past year (Junior) I was a Varsity starter. I wanted to share this part of my high school career to convince others that when you try and put in work, you will be successful and have a greater mindset. The sky is the limit and anything is possible if you have a plan and a goal to reach for.
