I have always believed that in any aspect of my life being the most versatile and working the hardest will always pay off. This has allowed me to always keep an open mind with regard to changing situations and has served me well both on and off the court.
On the court this has allowed me to play every position on the court in a competitive situation. When I was younger I was taller than most in my class and played MH and RS (being left handed). I even played Outside one season due to an injury on the team. As I stopped growing in HS my coach asked if I would move to setter as a sophomore. I did and seem to have found a home. However the following club season due to needs of the team I was asked to play Libero half way through the season so I moved from setter to libero. While some may have viewed all of this change as detracting from improving on individual position skills, I viewed it as a chance to improve my overall knowledge of the sport and to put myself in position to be the best and most knowledgeable player that I can be. Then I count on hard work in practice, off season, camps and clinics to improve on position specific skills.
I believe that this willingness to do what is in the best interest of the team instead of only focusing on me makes me a more well rounded player and person as I continue my volleyball career and prepare for life.
