KYRA WEBB '21 Recruiting Profile

My desire is to play on a competitive team, one who has the same kind of desire to play great volleyball, have a continuous effort/drive to improve their skills, and win games. 

Academically, I have struggles just like the next person.  But at a very young age, I was instilled with the ethic of effort over ability.  Effort was to be put first into anything you do!  Then, drive, willingness, and improved skill along the way are what’s going to get you to those places.  Ultimately and overall, effort is what is going to make or break you! And of course, it helps to have a support system behind you as well.

I will bring my effort, drive, willingness, and skill to our team.  I am a team player, team leader, and I follow directions!  I believe team spirit and moral plays a huge part in how a team plays, so I have taken on the role to always be the encourager, the up-lifter, and the level-headed play-maker on the court.  I keep a positive attitude, stay focused on the goal, and I believe in accountability.  I am self-motivated, know my goals, and willing to collaborate anytime.  I have time management down and I’m organized.

Athletically, besides the fact, I love playing volleyball!  I have the desire to continue my skills, to be better than yesterday, I want to play and learn!  My mom wrote a little ‘poem’ about me once, she thinks it would be a great way to explain me and my love of the game.  So here it is…

I am the player who wanted to learn and play all the positions on the court.

I am the level-headed calmness in the middle of a storm; the team player, the leader, who encourages the ‘downed’, hypes up the ‘good’, the director and guiding factor on the court.

I am the playmaker; I know my weaknesses and my strengths, as well as my team-mates abilities, I will follow my coach, and make the necessary plays needed to happen.
