Essence Smith '25 Recruiting Profile

I'm known to be a driven teammate and worker. I make an effort to make the people around me smile as well as myself. My grades stay high past As and Bs no lower. Playing volleyball has always brought me joy as I've been playing since I was in third grade. Keeping my health up mentally and physically is very important to me, so I tend to be a double sport athlete pairing track with volleyball in my off season. Stepping on to the court is game time. No matter if it's for a tournament, game, or scrimmage, my game face stays on. I'm always willing to learn more and more in sports and on my off time. I'm invested in multiple extracurricular activities; Stu-co President, Founder of the AAHC (African American History and Culture) club at my school, and continuous church volunteering. I continue to aspire to grow in my knowledge of the world and become more well-rounded everyday, but at the end of the day, I'll always be ready to kill the ball.
