Not being selected to my high schools varsity team this year was my biggest disappointment, but also my biggest reward. The hurt and pain I felt was the worst. But, it taught me how to work hard for what I want, and to never give up. "Tough times don't last but tough people do." That's what my dad told me. I'm so glad I continued to fight because two weeks after the season started I was moved up and was named a starter for my varsity team.
I was fortunate enough to go through this and to be able to show people that hard work and determination do pay off, you just need to believe in your abilities. This experience has not only made me a better player but also a better person. Im looking for a program that will challenge me athletically as well as academically. I know I can compete in the college level, my parents were college athletes so its in my blood. I believe my athleticism, being a 3 sport starter, and work-ethic would allow me to make an immediate impact on your program.
