Hello,
Thank you so much for considering me for your team. My name is Kali Nelson and I am an Outside/Right Side Hitter. I started playing volleyball when I was 11 years old and I played on a small YMCA team. After my first year of recreational volleyball, I fell in love with the thought that I could be better and play more competitively. The next year when I was 12, I transferred to a more competitive club team because I had so much desire to get better. With my natural talent and smart mentality during the game, I was automatically put into the starting lineup.
Academically, my goal is to pursue a Bachelor's and eventually Master's degree in pre-med or biology in order for me to become an anesthesiologist. Anesthesiology has interested me for years now, and with more and more research about the job, I have made my mind up completely. In 2017, I received an O Award which is an award given to those students who have been recognized by their teachers for outstanding grades and behavior. Last school year, I was also granted into the Spanish Honor Society. With my 3.78 GPA, I am positive that I have the motivation and dedication to pursue this dream.
In the past, I have also competed in soccer, basketball, and track. Even though these sports were not for me, they still taught me skills which help me become a better athlete. Starting my sophomore year of high school, I joined the competitive FFA program in which I raise and show lambs. This task has taught me more responsibility, time management, and perseverance that I can use in adulthood but also in volleyball. I know that I will be an asset to your team because of my will to get better, and with my competitiveness and dedication.
Again, thank you so much for your time.
