Three years ago, I came to the US from Puerto Rico. Even though I miss Puerto Rican cooking, the biggest shock I had, was the cold. Thankfully, my family moved to Texas where it only stays cold for a short time. Volleyball here in the US, is so much different than in Puerto Rico but I quickly found that it was a great way to meet new people and learn more about the US culture. Last year my high school volleyball team made it to playoffs and I was selected as a 1st Team All-District player and received the Offensive MVP award two years in a row. In my spare time, I enjoy dancing and supporting my younger brothers at their baseball games. I am looking forward to continuing my volleyball career collegiately and I know I will bring my Puerto Rican spice to my future team.
