My name is Carsen Young, and I am a libero/setter graduating in 2021. I have played volleyball since I was seven years old, and continue to grow as a player. Over the years I have experienced many positions, and have developed into a committed, versatile player. I am essentially looking to pursue my goal of playing college volleyball at the most competitive level possible, while acquiring my college degree. Throughout the years, I have successfully been able to maintain academics and athletics.
When I step on the court, I immediately become a great team leader, and contribute lots of energy to my team. I am always coachable, and keep a positive attitude. I aspire to be the best player I can be by showing my constant effort and passion for the game.
I have played club volleyball since I was nine years old, and have been a setter for the majority of my career. I began my varsity career as a freshman setter. However, the last two school seasons my coach has transitioned me to a libero because of our strong need for passing. I finished my junior season as the state leader for digs in 3A in the state of Texas. I also finished the season ranked 22 in the state for all divisions, according to MaxPreps. The amazing opportunities that I have received from my coaches have made me into the player I am today.
I would love to attend a college where I can achieve success in volleyball and academics. I would be a great asset to any team due to my strong background in the libero/setter positions. I have what it takes to compete at the next level, and would love to be considered for your program.
