Courtney Pope '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Courtney Pope and I am a 2023, 6’2” middle blocker/hitter from New Braunfels, Texas.  I play club for TCVA 17 Green Adidas and attend Canyon High School. 

As a sophomore, I started on varsity for Canyon High School (CHS) going undefeated in district and finishing the season 25-2 in the Texas 5A State Regional Finals match. I was named to the 1st Team All District and Academic All District teams. I was also selected for the All-VYPE San Antonio Public School Volleyball Team - First-Team MB and was ranked #90 by Prep Dig Texas for the top 2023 players. I led the district in blocks and was 3rd in hitting percentage. My club team also won 1st place at the Northeast Qualifier USA Division in April 2021 and 1st place USA Division Bronze Bracket at the GJNC this past July. 

As a junior, I was the starting MB for CHS and was named on the 2021 AVCA Phenom Watch List. We were 1st in district finishing at the Texas 5A State Semi-Finals with a 43-9 record. I led the district in both blocks and hitting percentage and was named to 1st Team All District and Academic All District teams. I was also voted to play in the TGCA 5A/6A Allstar Game in July 2022. My club team also won 1st place at the Northeast Qualifier USA Division, 2nd place at the Lone Star Classic Qualifier in April 2022, and finished 3rd at the GJNC USA Division this July receiving the Bronze medal. 

I have played on the same club team since I was 10 years old and they have become my best friends and family. I am looking to find that combination of competitive drive, great communication, and sense of family in a college program both on and off the court. Although I am undecided on my major, I am interested in the health and science field and I am looking for a school that is competitive in both athletics and academics. I am looking forward to learning more about your school and program!
