Emily Smajstrla '20 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Emily Smajstrla. I am a junior libero/DS from Pearland, Texas, a suburb right outside of Houston. I attend Pearland High School where I have played varsity level volleyball since sophomore year. I hold a 4.6 weighted GPA and ranked 71 out of 798 students in my class. I feel as if I am definitely a motivated student and well as an athlete. I hold myself to a high standard on the court and in the classroom, and I am always determined to be the best that I can be in both. Considering I'm much smaller than much of my competition, I've had to train myself to be smarter and quicker on the court, and to be self driven. Athletics has never come easy to me, so I've really had to work to get to where I am, and I understand that I have to work even harder and be even more determined to accomplish my goal to play at the college level. I always make sure I'm and encouraging and motivating teammate on and off the court, and I make an effort to be a coachable player.
