I have two passions: Volleyball and Nursing.
The road to finding my passion in volleyball was interesting. My mother said that her children had to have an extracurricular activity outside of school. First, it was gymnastics for 3 years. I learned how to fall but being a tumbler was not for me. Next up, I got placed on my twin brother's flag football team. They needed a player and one less stop for my single mom. It was fun but football was not close to any passion of mine. It was fun for a year but that was enough. Next....volleyball. This was when I found my true passion.
I started on a recreational league when I was 11. I saw the other girls practicing for Club, and that was my goal. One year later, I made my goal.
I was having fun, working hard, taking private lessons, being part of team, and traveling. I am on my 4th year of playing club and each coach has brought something unique to my play. I look forward to playing and practicing every day.
Believe it or not, I found nursing by watching "Grey's Anatomy." When I found out my high school offered a medical program, I eagerly applied. The Health Science Program entails some of the following: volunteering, clinical rotations, dissecting hearts, anatomy and working in a lab. I would ultimately like to be a Nurse Practitioner or Trauma Nurse.
I would love to find a college that can fulfill both of my passions.
