My name is Cheyenne Horst. I have three collegiate goals, which include: 1) focus on academic excellence, 2) earn a position on a collegiate volleyball team and 3) build my leadership and teamwork skills. I am a senior at George Ranch High School. I was honored to be the DS starter on the George Ranch High School volleyball team for the 2015 season.
For the 2016 season, our high school team moved to 6A. I am the starting Libero for my high school team. Recently (August 2016), I was honored to be chosen as 'Most Valuable Libero' in the Texas Spring Branch Volleyball Tournament. In addition, I was named to the Texas Spring Branch 'All Tournament Team." In addition, I received Academic All District Team and All District Second Team honors.
My high school volleyball team competed in the 2015 TEXAS 5A STATE Championship! In addition, I was named to the District 24 -5A Academic All District Team, All District Honorable Mention, as well as the Fort Bend Herald All Area Volleyball Team. Currently, I am the starting Libero on my high school team. Last year, I was starting DS for my high school team. I have played on Club Volleyball teams for the past seven years. In club, I have played Libero and DS positions extensively and outside hitter occasionally. I have attended several large tournaments, including AAU (Orlando), The Windy City National Qualifier (Chicago), LoneStar Classic (San Antonio) and the Cross Road Qualifier (Denver), just to name a few. I have also participated on several summer leagues and Texas A&M volleyball camp. As an athlete, I am very focused and passionate about the game of volleyball. I strive to work hard on technique, skills, focus, leadership and teamwork.
My GPA is approximately 95% out of a 100% scale. Lastly, I have been a class representative for our high school student council, active member of the National Honor Society, senior leader for Young Life and volunteered for Attack Poverty, as well as a Kindergarten Sunday School teacher for the past 2 years. Lastly, I am the only student to participate in the TEXAS STATE competition for ART, for GRHS. My personal goal is to attend a strong academic college with the opportunity to play on a college volleyball team.
