Mariela Garcia '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is Mariela M. Garcia, I am currently an 8th grader that started playing volleyball at the age of 7 years old.  During elementary school my team won City Champs twice, in Middle School this year we made it to Regionals and got second place.  Although I am an athlete and play Soccer, Basketball, Dance Ballet Pointe, Jazz and Tap my favorite sport is Volleyball.   I see myself since my elementary school years playing College Volleyball one day.  My dream is to go to the Olympics as part of the USA Volleyball Team.  I already know I want to pursue a Medical career.  I have high expectations in life and I am working very hard to make them happen.  I am a committed Student- Athlete and believe that only through hard work, sacrifice and commitment one can achieve.  I want to be successful in life, give back to my community and remain an honor student.  I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society and at this age I already know what it takes to keep good grades, go to practice, show up to games, travel with the team and still be successful academically.  I am not afraid of challenge, hard work and change!  I am a team player, with a great sense of humor, disciplined, responsible, committed and with a kind heart.  I give more than 100% all the time and I have learned from loosing what it takes to win and  how to rise when fallen.  I am a great example of Leadership, Commitment, Hard work and Endurance!  With all my successes so far I have remained humble and pray that I am granted the opportunity to fulfill my dreams in life... I want to be legacy to others!
